John A.
 John A “Tuda” Bozena, 92, of Englewood, passed away peacefully at his residence with his wife Martha by his side.

Born in Quality Hill, Gilberton, he was a son of the late Andrew and Stella Wojachowsky Bozena.  He was a graduate of Gilberton High School.

Tuda excelled in athletics, he lettered in baseball, basketball and football, he received many offers from colleges and universities.  He moved to Levittown after graduation and played baseball for the Phillies Farm Team.

He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. 

Tuda worked as a receiving clerk for Cummings Diesel, Ashland and previously worked as a welder in Levittown.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville and a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1533, Frackville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Ted Bozena and a sister Genevieve Zaknich.

Tuda is survived by his wife of 58 years Martha Sweador Bozena, Frackville; a son: John “Bo” Bozena and wife Charlene, East Stroudsburg; a daughter; Betty Jo Atkins, Carrollton, GA; three grandchildren; Michael and Emily Bozena and Abigail Atkins; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, February 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann R.C. Church, Frackville with Rev. Giuseppe C. Esposito, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. till time of Mass.  Interment with military honors will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Frackville.
