Born in Mt. Vernon, NY she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Ploner Lang. She was a graduate of the Walton High School, Bronx, NY and received an Associate of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Hackensack, NJ.

She was a medical secretary for over 25 years at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York City, NY.

Gertrude was proud of and devoted to her 19 nieces and nephews. She moved to the Frackville area to be closer to family in the early 1980’s and was active in the former Frackville Women’s Club. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Frackville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters; Elizabeth Kirelawich, Eleanor Zelinsky, Dorothy Gartner, Barbara O’Meara and Grace Sankus, and a brother; Robert Lang.

Gertrude is survived by her sister; Evelyn Kustinavage, Frackville; 19 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ann R.C. Church, Frackville with Rev. Giuseppe C. Esposito, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Frackville.
