Eve S. Alshon
 Eve (Semanchick) Alshon, 89, of Frackville passed on to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Ella Kudla Semanchick. She was a graduate of Frackville High School 

A devout member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville; she was frequently active at the Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and lector; she cleaned the Alter; reposed and espoused the Blessed Sacraments for Fr. Dominic Kalada for many years. 

She was very active in the community as past president and former chaplain of the AmVets Auxiliary, Shenandoah; past president of the Ladies of the Elks and nominated as elk of the year of BPO Elks Lodge #1533, Frackville; past president of the Lithuanian Women’s Club and past president of the former Pottsville Club.

She volunteered with the Red Cross of Schuylkill County on door to door campaigns in Shenandoah and Frackville; was in charge of Project Finds to help those in need of food; she also assisted with blood drives at the Frackville Elks. 

Eve was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; a caring person who always was willing to help those in need. 

Eve was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph A. Alshon, in 2013; the last of twelve siblings she was also preceded by sisters; Ann Butchko, Julia Gera, Helen Waytuna and Mary Soucheck; brothers; Michael, George, John Semanchick and infant brother Nicholas. 

Eve is survived by a daughter; Mary Jo Jones(Lawrence Benner) Frackville; sons; Dr. Joseph (Nina) Boca Raton, FL; Eugene(Gail) Pueblo, CO; Mark (Carolina) Delco; and Steven (Fiance Laura) NJ; Grandchildren; Eva Marie Jones; Christina Accardi (Jeramie); Tyler, Paige, Christian, Timothy, Ryan, Trevor and Savannah; great-grandson and her pride and joy Blake Diehl; great grandchildren; Kenneth, Faith and Elijah; many nieces and nephews 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Ann R.C. Church, Frackville with Rev. Giuseppe C. Esposito, pastor, officiating; Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the church Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donation s can be made in Eve’s name to St. Josph the Worker Memorial Fund, 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave. Frackville, PA  17931.
