Born in Hershey, he was a son of Jennifer Palko, Freeland and Jeff Bernitsky.

Josh worked in many different areas including restaurant home delivery service, an aide with home health care and for a short time with Amazon Distribution Center.

Josh loved movies and cinema of all kinds; he was very selective in the movies he watched as they had to meet his standards of creativity. He enjoyed watching professional wrestling and he liked music and anything to do with Halloween.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Susan Preneta, May 11, 2023 and a brother Christopher Vega.

Josh is survived by his paternal grandfather John Preneta, with whom he resided with; his parents; a sister; Samantha Kostowskie; uncles; John J. Preneta, Jr. Nazareth and James Preneta; Shenandoah; loving girlfriend Heather McCarty, New Tripoli; a nephew and cousins.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, as celebrant;  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Church from 9 to 10 a.m.  Interment will be private in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
